Two incumbent LCO Tribal Governing Board members, Gary “Little Guy” Clause and Michelle Beaudin, won re-election while two new members were elected, Kelly Nayquonabe and Bill Trepanier, to serve 4-year terms on Saturday, June 17th.

Losing their seats were LCO Vice Chairwoman Lorraine Gouge and Glenda Barber, who lost in the primary election.

Vote totals were as follows; Kelly Nayquonabe 544, Bill Trepanier 488, Gary “Little Guy” Clause 462 and Michelle Beaudin 395. The other four candidates vote totals were as follows; David Bisonette 363, Lorraine Gouge 360, John Randy Cadotte 353, Daylene sharlow Gokey 338.

The four winners will be inaugurated at a ceremony in the Sevenwinds Convention Center in early July, the date yet to be announced. They will serve until the election in June of 2027.

After swearing in the newly elected members, the 7-member council will choose their chairman, vice-chairman and secretary-treasurer. Currently, Louis Taylor serves as LCO Chairman and Tweed Shuman as Secretary-Treasurer. The Vice Chairman position will be vacated as Gouge didn’t win re-election, and a new person will be chosen for that spot.
