On July 2, 2025, the Lac Courte Oreilles (LCO) Tribe hosted the official inauguration and swearing-in ceremony for its newly-elected Tribal Governing Board (TGB). The event, held at the Sevenwinds Casino, Lodge & Conference Center, saw Tribal Members, local community representatives, and dignitaries from across Wisconsin come together.
Three new council members were inaugurated to serve four year terms while the fourth will serve out the remainder of a four year term. The three serving four year terms are Jordan St. Germaine, Don Carley, Janet Quaderer and Lorraine Gouge will serve two year terms. They join Gary "Little Guy" Clause, Bill Trepanier and Michelle Beaudin on the LCO Tribal Governing Board.
Once seated, the new TGB chose their officers at the Inauguration. Little Guy was chosen as chairman, Bill Trepanier as vice chairman and Michelle Beaudin as secretary-treasurer.
As the new TGB begins their work, they respectfully ask the membership and community for patience. We will be working diligently over the next month or two to catch up on all the issues/items that have been backlogged since March.
In a joint statement, the incoming board shared:
“We swore an oath to uphold both the constitutions of the Lac Courte Oreilles Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians and of the United States of America. We fully intend to uphold these promises and ask for patience and understanding as we proceed through this time of transition. We look forward to moving forward in a positive direction.”
