Pennies for a Cure a Great Success for LCO School

The 2019 PENNIES FOR A CURE (Leukemis & Lymphoma) fundraiser was a huge success at the Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwe School. Collection boxes were distributed so that students, staff and family donations would be added to their classroom collection jars. The final total for the year was $650.89.

Top elementary/school fundraising was done by Ms. Brianna Cody and Ms. Cheyenne Turnbull's 4th grade combined classes with $135.77. Top Middle School fundraiser was Ms. Tammy Moncel's 8th Graders with $41.07 collected. Top High School team was the Seniors with Ms. Wendy Fuller and Ms. Melanie Barber raising $33.49. These top three groups received $50.00 for a party of their choice. A special thank you goes out to Dowie Barber who collected and delivered money for counting and The Chippewa Valley Bank for re-counting and getting a bank check for us.

The school has collected well over $21,000 in the years it has participated in this fundraiser.
