The Big Fish Golf Course hosted a new foundation, Bright Sky, as they held a charity golf tournament on Sunday, Sept. 25, to raise funds for health and wellness initiatives. The tournament was named the Brawl in the Fall and was held in memory of John Ahren Cadotte, who passed away last year.

According to Big Fish General Manager, Will LaPointe, he said despite a rainy day, the tournament was a huge success with 32 teams (128 golfers) participating and raising $18,161.

“It was a great tournament to close out the season,” LaPonite said. He noted the tournament is already on the calendar for Sept. 24, 2023, saying the Sunday date worked very well.

LaPointe said they also plan to add digital scoring next year, more contests and a silent auction.

He said there were many sponsors to thank and some of them were major sponsors, which contributed to the success of raising over $18,000. Those included the LCO Tribal Governing Board, Sevenwinds Casino, LCO Financial Services, Enbridge, the LCO Health Clinic and Bizhiki Wellness Center.
