General Assistance Awarded CARES Act Funds for Affected Families

The Lac Courte Oreilles Band of Lake Superior Chippewa has been awarded CARES Act General Assistance Funds from the Bureau of Indian Affairs to assist family members that have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

These funds will provide emergency supplemental funding to tribal member families a monthly stipend while unemployed and will be based on the family/children household size.

CARES ACT General Assistance will support individuals that have been laid off from their employer and who do not qualify for unemployment or other resources.

Applicants must provide proof of residency within the Tribes service area and reservation boundaries and provide a determination of eligibility that disqualifies an individual for unemployment benefits.
