What's Happening at the LCO Community Health Center

LCO Health Center

Membership Report

Changes are happening at the LCO Community Health Center.  We are welcoming new staff to better assist our patients.  On December 20, 2023, Lisa Kingfisher joined our staff as the new Pharmacy Director, she is replacing Jim Strunk who served our facility for many years.  Along with a new director, the Pharmacy has added Steve Robbins as a new Pharmacist.  He will be replacing Franklin Suo, who will be leaving our staff after many years of service.  Franklin will be missed.

Beginning in February, Amanda Suino-Malcolm will be transitioning to primary care and a Nurse Practitioner has been hired to continue patient care in the Medication Assisted Treatment Clinic.

Recently there has been a rise in the number of positive COVID cases presenting at the Health Center.  A reminder to all:  if you are feeling ill, showing signs of COVID (cough, fever, etc.) we recommend you be tested for COVID.  COVID tests can be completed here at the Health Center and the Health Center has take-home COVID tests for those who want to test at home.  We advise anyone exhibiting symptoms of COVID to take the necessary precautions which include:  masking, washing hands regularly and staying home.  If presenting to the Health Center for testing we recommend you tell the reception you may have COVID upon your arrival.

News on the New Health Center:  construction is progressing nicely and we are hoping to be moved into the new facility by March 2025.

In December, we had 4 members of our staff travel to Las Vegas to complete training on Emergency Preparedness.  They are looking forward to working closely with the Tribe’s Emergency Preparedness Coordinator to prepare for rapid response in the event of an emergency.
