The LCO Tribal Governing Board unanimously approved giving Tribal Realtor Nita Kemp the authority to enter into a purchase agreement with Indian Country Communications, Inc to purchase the Indian Country Trading Post building located directly across from the LCO Commercial Center Complex on County Highway K/E.
The building will be purchased for $210,000 and the funds will come from the Wisconsin CARES Act relief funds the Tribe received. The building will be used as a quarantine facility for Covid-19 infected tribal residents until after the Covid-19 pandemic has passed, at which time the Tribe may assign a different use for the building.
Kemp said the property has 1.104 acres in addition to the storefront and lower level interiors. Kemp added that earnest money has been delivered to Woods to Water Realty as the seller agent and that the deal will be closed before December 1st.
