Tamarack Health announces the appointment of Luke Beirl as interim CEO and President of Ashland Medical Center. Beirl will continue to serve as CEO and President of Tamarack Health Hayward Medical Center. In his newly expanded role, Beirl will oversee Tamarack Health operations including the Ashland and Hayward Medical Centers and the Superior Clinic. 

Beirl has been with Tamarack Health for ten years, starting as a pharmacist in Ashland and later leading the organization’s process improvement efforts. Beirl holds an MBA from the College of St. Scholastica and is a fellow of the College of American Healthcare Executives. In 2018 he became the CEO of Hayward Medical Center, during which he had a significant role in Tamarack Health’s overall growth.  

His appointment comes following the departure of CEO and President, Jason Douglas. Douglas has been an integral part of the organization and community for the past 10 years and the Board of Directors thanks him for his service.

Chris Iverson, Tamarack Health Board Chair, explains that Tamarack Health is well positioned for a seamless succession in leadership with no disruption to the delivery of services. The leadership teams continue to work closely together as strong and financially stable community-based organizations with very bright futures.
