LCO Police Chief Tim DeBrot
On Thursday, October 28, 2021, Officers from the Lac Courte Oreilles Tribal Police Department responded to the call of a 1-vehicle crash on County Hwy NN, just south of Dream Catcher Lane.
Initial indication is a black 2009 Chrysler PT Cruiser operated by Jason E. Fleming, 50 of Couderay was traveling northbound on County Hwy NN when he apparently lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle entered the ditch line and struck several trees prior to rolling and coming to a stop on its roof. Mr. Fleming, the driver and lone occupant of the vehicle, sustained fatal injuries as a result of the crash.
The Lac Courte Oreilles Tribal Police Department was assisted by the Sawyer County Sheriff’s Department, Hayward Police Department, Sawyer County Ambulance, and the Town of Hayward Fire Department.
This crash remains under investigation by the Lac Courte Oreilles Tribal Police Department and the Sawyer County Coroner’s Office.
