New Youth Development Cultural Coordinator at the LCO College

Sirella Ford was recently hired by the Lac Courte Oreilles Tribal College as their new Youth Development Cultural Coordinator. Sirella is an LCO tribal member and she is renowned for her beautiful beadwork as well as her famous frybread. Sirella has also worked for the LCO College- Extension program by teaching various cultural activities at the college before taking her new position.


Sirella graduated from Northland College with her 4-year degree in Business Administration, and she comes to the college with a wealth of knowledge. She previously worked under the Tribes Johnson O'Malley Grant for 10 years at the Hayward High School.


"From my past position I gained one on one experience with the students at the Hayward High School and developed lasting relationships with the youth from our community," said Sirella. "I am now able to reach even more students in my present position."


The youth development grant is based on honoring our past and strengthening our future. There are four aspects all involving culture that Sirella will have the opportunity to address with her students, leadership, technology, economics and food production.
