Tribal Aging & Disability Resource Specialist

LCO Tribal Aging & Disability Center (LCO Elder Center)

Happy almost September 2021. Yikes the year has gone by so fast, before we know it, the snow will be flying. Where did the summer go? Before we know it, Fall will be upon us. But I love the Fall season with all the beautiful changing of colors and the air seems different, in my mind, a season of change.

This month has been a busy month with me navigating through the aspects of this job and finding out that there is so much more to learn. I am figuring out resources, processes, and outcomes. However, getting to the outcome part is a challenge. But I love working and helping elders with their needs or requests.

I do want to relay that I am officially a Notary Public, if you have a need to have something notarized, please do not hesitate to give me a call or stop by the LCO Elder Center.

There is a great need for our elderly or disabled individuals that need or require In-home care or housekeeping. But we do not have the resources available to meet this need. This is not only a problem for the LCO Community, but nationwide because as we get older its harder to do these daily tasks / chores. So here at the Elder Center we are looking to compile a list of caregivers in our community that would be willing to assist those in need. So, if you know of anyone that may be interested in becoming a caregiver, please let us know at the elder center to put on the caregiver list.

If there is a need for incontinence supplies, walkers, wheelchairs, adaptive equipment, etc., call Di-z Cross (715) 558-7941 or Rose Gokee (715) 699-0800 for assistance in obtaining the equipment needed. Because as we work together to make our community stronger by teamwork, and/or coordinating services within our tribal community will only make our tribal entities that much better to assist the needs of individuals.
