Lots of Halloween Activities Throughout the County

In addition to the various trunk-or-treat events around the LCO Reservation, there are several events around the county that everyone is welcome to attend. There are drive-thru events at LCO in several communities which include Reserve, Signor, New Post, the Hideout, the Tribal Office Loop and the LCO Ojibwe College. These events are from 2pm till 4pm while the college’s is 1:30 to 4:30 pm.


Out in Hayward, area churches will sponsor a drive-thru event at St. Joseph's parking lot and then will be directed to the two blocks of Main Street in front of the Courthouse, Frandsen Bank & Trust and the Post Office. Families will drive down Main Street with their trunks open and the distributors will put candy in each bucket that is in the truck. This event is from 4pm till 6pm.


The city of Hayward trick-or-treating will take place from 4pm to 7pm. If the lights are on, you are welcome to stop at the house.


Marketplace Foods also has a drive up event. Simply pull up to the front of the store and a bag of goodies will be brought to your car for each child. This takes place between 4pm and 7pm.


The Stone Lake Lions are hosting a Halloween party from 4pm to 6pm with costume judging at 5pm. There will be games, contests, trick-or-treating on Main Street between Frost Avenue and Gibson Street in Stone Lake. Gift certificates will be awarded as prizes for different contests.


Winter has trick-or-treating from 4pm to 7pm for houses with the lights on. The Winter Fire Department is also hosting a Halloween event at the fire hall from 4pm to 7pm.


Birchwood’s Halloween party begins at 2:30pm at Trinity Lutheran Church, 501 E. Chetac Ave. Trunk-or-treat cars will be set up and ready to hand out lots of great treats.


As you can see, there are plenty of great opportunities for the kids in our community to stock up on the treats. Have a safe and happy Halloween!
