In two weeks a great golf event will be held at Big Fish Golf Club in the spirit of having some fun and getting out enjoying the fresh air during these Covid-19 times.

The Legends of the North Golf Tournament was an individual stroke play tournament that ran from 2001 to 2011 attracting some of the best golfers throughout the Northland. The tournament traveled each year to many courses including Hayward National, Telemark, Siren National, Butternut, Black Bear and Lakewoods. 2020 marks the rebirth of this great tournament, but the individual stroke play won't begin till 2021. This fall, we will begin the tradition with a 2-Man Scramble event at Big Fish Golf Club on September 19 and 20. In 2021, we plan both, a scramble and individual stroke play event.

Due to Covid-19, there will be a couple things different from a normal golf event. One reason we kept this scramble to a 2-man instead of a 3-man was to keep groups smaller. The way this tournament will take place is with normal tee times which will keep the event as if it were any normal weekend of golf at Big Fish preventing any gatherings. Also, in the past, our Legends tournaments held dinner award ceremonies following the tournament, but this year we won't be having the typical awards ceremony. This event will be 100% payback and will have added prize money and proxy prizes from area businesses. Our first two sponsors are Coops Pizza and La Tequila Mexican Restaurant. Show your love for these two awesome Hayward restaurants. Miigwech to them both. More sponsors will be announced on our Facebook page this week.
