LCO PD Presents New Tribal License Plate Design

The LCO Police Department says a new license plate design for Lac Courte Oreilles is now available for registration at the PD.

The PD states you must reside on the reservation to qualify for the plate registration and be an LCO Tribal Member. Plates can only be distributed at the LCO Tribal Police Department located at 13771W Gitigaan Road.

Dianah Ton of the LCO PD explains the process; "To register a vehicle (get the title transferred into your name) the cost is 164.50. If there is a loan on the vehicle, the cost is $174.50. We can only accept checks or money orders for that transaction. The cost of the plate is cash only. Cars 75.00; trucks (depending on weight) 84.00 or 106.00. We never changed our plate fees when the state did."
