LCO Ojibwe School Holds Annual Ziigwan Showcase

On Friday, April 11, 2025, the Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwe School hosted its annual Ziigwan Showcase, a celebration of student creativity, culture, and artistic expression.

This year's theme, "Be A Superhero," encouraged students to explore their inner strength, cultural identity, and imagination through art.

Using a wide range of artistic mediums, including painting, drawing, wood working, and mixed media, students had the opportunity to express their unique perspectives and talents. The showcase was a vibrant display of color, culture, and confidence, drawing praise from staff, families, and community members alike.

A thank you was issued by the the LCO Ojibwe School to those who helped make it happen.

“We extend our heartfelt Chi-Miigwech to LCO Ojibwe Schools Art Teacher Samantha Martinez, Music Teacher Mrs. Theresa Poole and Third Grade Teacher Amy Mleczko for their incredible work in organizing this year’s 2025 Ziigwan Showcase! Their dedication and creativity brought our community together in a vibrant celebration of culture, talent, and togetherness.

“The showcase featured a stunning art exhibition, highlighting the creativity of our students. Families and community members were also treated to musical performances by our talented students, filling the room with energy, pride, and joy.
