LCO Clinic to Start Offering Vaccinations to Hayward School District Staff

Gary Girard,ED. D., M.S., B.A.

LCO Health Center Director/Public Health Officer

The Lac Courte Oreilles {LCO) Community Health Center is announcing they have received enough vaccine from Pfizer to begin immediately vaccinating all LCO tribal members and their family members 16 years of age and older against the COVID-19 virus. 240 individuals are scheduled for vaccinations today, March 3rd. There will be another 240 openings on March 10th. On these two dates, individuals will receive their first doses. Patients must plan on returning to the clinic 3 weeks later for their second dose.

Please call the clinic @ 715-638-5100 to schedule an appointment. You must have an appointment for this vaccine due to the planning necessary.

At the time of this notice, the clinic has administered over 1600 doses of vaccines without any serious side effects. We encourage all tribal members and their family members (16 and older with parent permission) to call and schedule your appointment.

Management of the LCO Community Health Center is communicating with the Hayward Community School District on vaccination plans for staff. These vaccinations will not delay or hinder in any way vaccinations for LCO tribal members or their family members. We currently have over 450 LCO students in the Hayward Community School System and in order to combat the spread, it's important that we offer the vaccination to their staff, especially our teachers.

Teachers have been deemed essential workers for vaccination.

The LCO Health Center COVID-19 Response Team will be conducting a community testing outreach at the LCO Reserve 16 Plex on Thursday, March 4th, 2021 from 9:00 am until Noon. We are also holding a community outreach for March 8 from 9:00 am until Noon for all community members.
