The Lac Courte Oreilles Tribal Governing Board and the Lac Courte Oreilles Tribal Police Department have been in constant contact regarding the gunshots heard yesterday near the intersection of Froemel Road and Schoolhouse Road.
An investigation is ongoing and there is increased law enforcement patrolling the LCO Daycare, LCO Head Start/Early Head Start, LCO K-12 School, and community buildings and commons areas.
Law Enforcement has no information to believe there is any imminent threat to the community but will continue with increased patrolling for the safety of all.
Schools will be open. If parents/guardians don’t feel safe about sending their children to school, you are to use your own discretion.
