Four new council members will be sworn in to the Lac Courte Oreilles Tribal Governing Board at the tribal inauguration in a couple of weeks following yesterday’s general election.

The top four finishers were Michelle Beaudin with 546 votes, Lorraine Gouge with 460, Gary “Little Guy” Clause with 422 and Glenda Barber with 417.

The other four candidates were Rosalie Gokee, 328, Brian Bisonette, 317, Jason Martin, 297, and Jason Schlender, 218.

Schlender and Gokee were the two remaining incumbents and Schlender was also the tribe’s vice chairman which leaves that seat open. The new tribal council will vote for Chairman, Vice Chairman and Secretary-Treasurer at the Inauguration. The secretary-treasurer seat will also be open as incumbent Jason Weaver lost in the primary election.

The fourth incumbent, Joel Valentin, chose not to run for re-election this year.
