Tribal Aging and Disability Services Report for Month of April

Updated: Apr 9, 2021

Boozhoo and Miigwech for taking the time in reading updates to our LCO Tribal Aging & Disability Services program. With our spring weather already upon us, I would very much like to welcome new staff here at our department, I have asked each new staff member to provide an update to their new duties and responsibilities and if you read below you will learn more about their new roles. 2021 has been moving very fast and now we are coming into our April/Easter break for our community, we still try to be as holiday festive as possible here without having our clients come and eat.. yet. But wanted to share some pictures of all of us during this time we try to have staff participate in holiday festivities. Eventually we will want to get back to where we once were and hope to see some significant updates and changes from our State agency’s and Tribal policy updates in regards to the COVID-19 vaccinations, which the majority of our staff are now fully vaccinated.

I did want to inform those clients who are interested in attending the upcoming June 2021 GLNAEA event in Carter, WI. I attended the Tribal Aging Unit meeting last week and unfortunately, they are postponing the June event until September 2021, I apologize for getting everyone’s hopes up, I was really looking forward to seeing other WI tribes and their representatives at this event.

I was able to attend a recent Tribal Veteran Service Officer in Baraboo earlier this month, our WDVA Tribal Liaison Shaun Stoeger is leaving his position, as disheartening as it was to know, he is doing what’s best for him and his family, and I commend him for his time with all of our WI TVSO’s, I look forward to the State of WI Department of Veteran Affairs bringing someone in that will continue to strengthen relationships and with the State, CVSO’s, and TVSO’s.

We will be closed Friday, April 2nd and Monday, April 5th in observance of Easter Break.

Miigwech for taking the time to read these updates and look forward to seeing you all soon, please do not hesitate to reach out to the department for your issues and needs, Take care and stay safe!

Respectfully,

Terrance Manuelito

Tribal Aging & Disability Services Director

Tribal Veteran Service Officer
