Elder Center Closes After Staff Member Tests Positive for Covid

Submitted by Terrance Manuelito

LCO Elder Center Director

In light of recent events at the LCO Elder Center we have been informed to close temporarily due to a positive COVID-19 test from a kitchen staff member. We felt as an LCO community service provider that it was in our staffs best interest to participate in last tuesday’s community free COVID-19 testing site at the drytown playground area, which results were given to the staff member on Sunday.

As this is still a developing situation, we are doing our best to err on the side of caution and protect the safety and well-being of all staff members and clients, we will need to temporarily suspend all services to include elder & disabled benefits, Daily Home delivered meals at the minimum of 14 days, we ask that you please help and share this post as most clients are not on social media and we do not have access to the building to draft memos and contact clients list.

I have contacted the LCO CEO and LCO TGB along with our tribes public safety officer who has advised our department to close immediately until proper safety protocols are put in place.

We want to assure and confirm to you that no meals delivered to clients were affected or compromised during delivery to clients.

I want to reiterate the importance of this issue and it is our hopes to open when testing is done and all staff are clear to return .

I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, please take care and stay safe!
