In the first round of the WIAA Division 4 Girls Volleyball tournament, the LCO Migiziwag Eagles defeated the Butternut Mighty Midgets 3-2 at the Theresa Williams Gymnasium at the LCO School.
In the regional quarterfinal, the Eagles won the opening set, 25-18, and then fell to Butternut over the next two sets, 26-24 and 25-15. The Eagles rallied to win the next two sets, 25-16 and 15-11.
On Thursday, Oct. 21, the Eagles then advanced to face top seeded Mercer in a regional semifinal playoff which they lost in three straight sets 25-12, 25-16 and 25-19.
The Eagles finished the regular season with an overall record of 10-7 and for their first year as an official member of the Indianhead Conference, finished with a conference record of 6-3.
