Taylor honored at Vet’s Powwow

A star quilt was designed, cut and sewed by the textiles class of the Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwe School and presented to LCO Veteran, Gary Taylor, at the LCO Veteran’s Day Powwow on Sunday, Nov. 11.

Tiffiny Leach, class instructor, said the class wanted the quilt to go to someone special and decided to honor Taylor for his service. Taylor served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War.

The LCO Badger Singers performed the honor song.

“Kudos to Eliise White, Ellen Corbine, Maddie Schnaible, Elizabeth Coffmann and Betty Lacapa. You guys are awesome,” Leach said. “It was very moving and many had tears.”
