Summary of Results of Community Assessment Presented to Community

The Lac Courte Oreilles Band of Lake Superior Chippewa conducted a Community Assessment of randomly selected households on the Lac Courte Oreilles Indian Reservation and LCO member households in Sawyer County. This important project was done to provide up-to-date, accurate information about the characteristics, needs, and priorities of the LCO community. Tribal leadership will use the data to inform strategic planning and prioritize community needs and concerns in the development and delivery of programs and services.

The Community Assessment questionnaire was administered on the reservation by local field staff through in-person household visits beginning at the end of March, 2019 and ending in June. Sampled households also had the opportunity to complete the survey form online.

All selected households represented the community and its needs. All information collected is strictly confidential and will never be used against any household. The community's honest answers will enable the Tribe to more effectively help community members and their families and strengthen applications for grants and program funding.

Thank you for your interest in the Lac Courte Oreilles Community Assessment. We appreciate your help in making this project a success!

The following is a summary of the results presented to the community on Nov. 5.
