Last month it was announced an online Certified Peer Specialist training coming in January and February of 2021, but at the time registration deadline was Dec. 18, which has now been extended to January 1st. This online Certified Peer Specialist training is sponsored by the Lac Courte Oreilles Tribe.
Sign up for LCO Peer Specialist training sponsored by LCO Circles of Care Grant and LCO Tribal Opioid Response Grant. Training is not a guarantee of employment however does improve chances of employment for multiple venues. PLEASE NOTE APPLICATIONS FOR ACCEPTANCE CLOSE DECEMBER 18, 2020.

Online Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) Training (LCO Tribe-sponsored)
January 15, 2021 @ 5:00 pm - February 5, 2021 @ 8:00 pm
Training dates: January 15th, 18th – 22nd, 25th – 29th, February 1st – 5th (5pm-8pm all days). Trainers are Cano Padilla and Carmella Glenn.
Determining Eligibility and Fit
The following are required to be eligible to apply to this CPS training:
Must be a Lac Courte Oreilles Tribal Member or Sawyer County resident and reside in Wisconsin
Must self-identify as having navigated personal lived experience of mental health and/or substance use challenges
Must have at least a high school dimploma or GED equivalent
Must be 18 years of age or older
14-18 participants will be selected for this training. To be considered for selection, you must meet the basic eligibility requirements above, submit an application form, and complete an interview. There is no training registration cost for participants.
Selection note:
When selecting participants for this training, priority will be given to applicants who are LCO Tribal Members. Only after all LCO Tribal Member applicants have been reviewed will applicants from other areas be considered.
