Monthly Report from the LCO Elder Center for August

Di-Z Cross, Tribal Aging & Disability Resource Specialist

LCO Elder Center, Reserve WI

The first thing I want to mention is that I recently became a Notary Public, therefore, if members require notary services, you can reach me at the LCO Elder Center in Reserve. Please bring a current I.D. (Drivers’ license/State I.D. or Tribal I.D.) as required; individual will be asked what is being notarized because it is your responsibility to know the content of the document(s), once all information is confirmed, the document will be notarized.

The Tribal Aging & Disability Center (LCO Elder Center) is supporting the COVID-19 vaccination to those homebound/elderly individuals who did not receive the vaccination but are willing to explore the possibility of getting vaccinated. We will provide transportation to and from your residence to the appointment (Wal-Mart & Walgreens offer this service free of charge with no appointment necessary). However, we must schedule the appointment date and will provide transportation. You must have completed both vaccinations to receive the $25.00 Gas Coupon from the LCO Quick Stop, then your name will also be entered into a drawing for iPad mini for your very own! The vaccinations deadline will be August 31, 2021, to get the first round. Please call me at (715) 558-7941 with any questions or comments.

As I learn the responsibilities of the Tribal Aging & Disability Resource Specialist responsibilities, I am continuing to work with different resources to assist with a variety of needs that our members may need, such as furniture (kitchen table/chairs, end tables, sofa/couches, or items we may not have in stock), walkers, bathroom equipment, etc. The LCO Elder Center has a great resource to tap into such as Habitat for Humanity Restore, Salvation Army, Energy Assistance and the LCO Community Health Center. If we can continue to work together to get the resources that are needed to meet the needs of clients/consumers, we are that much stronger! Chi-Miigwech for all the support and resources available, as we couldn’t do it without any one of you!

If you want additional information about the LCO Elder Center, please do not hesitate to contact anyone of us here! We’d love to hear from you!
