Both LCO youth baseball teams (13U and 15U) won their respective tournaments at the All Nations Baseball Festival on the weekend of Aug. 6-8, held at the Hayward Little League and High School Fields.
The 15U team, coached by head coach George Taylor and assistant coach Lonnie Barber, lost their first game to Little Earth on Friday evening to kick off the tournament, but came back strong winning their next three games to earn home field in the championship match on Sunday at Noon. They secured the championship with a 8-3 victory over Bad River.
The 13U LCO1 team, coached by head coach Joe Morey and assistant coach Brian Mohr, went undefeated in the round robin tournament with St. Croix, Little Earth and LCO2. They earned home field in the championship match where they won a nail biter with Little Earth 11 to 5.
In the skills competitions, St. Croix won the Around the Horn contest in 13U while Bad River won the 15U contest. Brendan Young of the LCO1 team captured the 13U Home Run Derby trophy and Bradley Trepania of the LCO team captured the 15U Big League Arm pitching trophy.
