The community is invited to a Round Dance, Reclaiming Our Children, on Friday, February 8, at the Sevenwinds Casino Conference Center.
The event will begin with a Pipe Ceremony and feast at 4 pm, followed by a Hand Drum Contest at 5 pm, and the Round Dance will begin at 6 pm.
Emcees for the Round Dance are Dr. Michael Sullivan and George “Budman” Morrow, both of Lac Courte Oreilles. The pipeman is Joe Syrette and the stickman is Opie Day-Bedeau from Midnite Express. The whipman is Mike Demain of LCO.
First place for the Hand Drum Contest is $1,500, and $1,000 for second place, $600 for third. The Youth contest will have a $300 first place, $200 for second and $100 for third.
There will be 50/50 raffles and other items raffled including Xbox, PS4, an Eskimo portable ice shack, 2003 Ski Doo MXZ 800, mountain bikes and more.
