LCO School and Rising Stars Basketball to Host Two Youth Basketball Camps

Rising Stars Basketball, and the LCO Ojibwe School welcome Matthew Gregory, Head Coach of Bay College Women's Basketball. Coach Gregory will be collaborating with Rising Stars Basketball to host two basketball camps in the Lac Courte Oreilles community.
College Skills Camp Date: Tuesday, July 26, 2022 Time: 9AM to 3PM Venue: LCO Ojibwe School Price: $60 per player
Grades: Entering 9-12
Topics: The topics will cover best practices on getting recruited by college coaches, how to market yourself, which platforms to post game film or workout videos, and much more. Over the 6 hour timespan, you'll go over the necessary skills to play at the next level and the drills to obtain those skills. The end result is that you will receive a player evaluation of strengths and weaknesses as well as a personalized training plan to help you increase your chances of playing at the collegiate level. This is an advanced camp with advanced skills and information for those that wish to play in college.
NextUp Varsity Skills Camp
Date: Thursday, July 28, 2022 Time: 9AM to 3PM Venue: LCO Ojibwe School Price: $30 per player Grades: Entering 7-8
This camp is focused on the fundamentals of the game, as well as incorporating a session on character and leadership development. The athletes will go through a series of drills to develop the skills to play at the varsity level as they enter high school in the next year or so.
Instructors: Matthew Gregory, Head Coach of the Bay College Women's Basketball program, and Curtis DeCora, Youth Development Certified Skills Trainer by USA Basketball. Coach Gregory has been a camp director for Marquette University, and Butler University, as well as Youth Skills Trainer and Camp Director for the Indiana Pacers Skills Camps. DeCora, tribal member, and long-time skills trainer for athletes in NCAA DIII, DII, NAIA DI, NJCAA II, NJCAA I, and multiple all-conference performers in Minnesota, and Wisconsin.
