LCO Nutrition Center Receives New Van Awarded from the Hunger Task Force

From Hunter Task Force Facebook

It's Indigenous Peoples’ Day – join Hunger Task Force in honoring the rich cultures, traditions, and contributions of Indigenous communities to our home state of Wisconsin. Today we're also celebrating the newly customized refrigerated van Hunger Task Force was able to provide to our friends Lac Courte Oreilles Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians. The tribe is a member of the Hunger Relief Federation of Wisconsin (HRF), a coalition of 143 free, local and independent food pantries and emergency feeding organizations representing all 72 Wisconsin counties and 10 Tribal Nations.

The new van will support the community's Aging & Disability Services Nutrition Program, which provides information, resources, and assistance to tribal elderly, the disabled, and their families, empowering them to age in place.
