Jason Weaver Added to Planning and Grant Writing Team

Submitted by Booki Weilgot

The Grants Department is pleased to add Jason Weaver as a new member of our planning and grant writing team.

Jason is a graduate of Lac Courte Oreilles High School. He served 3 years in the Army after High School. He then worked in the Environmental field for the St. Croix Chippewa Tribe for 10 years managing the EPA grants and water quality studies. He earned an Associate of Science Degree from LCOOCC, and a B.S. from the University of Wisconsin Superior with a Major in Sustainable Business Management. Most recently he graduated with a Master’s Degree in Administration and Governance from the University of Minnesota Duluth.

To start, Jason's responsibilities will extend to oversight of the tribal government facility expansion grant(s), performing NEPA and construction management functions. He will also work with Will Gouge to develop a $1 million dollar water/wastewater grant from the USDA and coordinate the BIE planning grant to develop a Tribal Utility Authority for Lac Courte Oreilles (if awarded). As you know, Brian Bisonette fulfilled many of those same responsibilities while working in our office.

Jason states: "I am excited to work in the Grants Department because I enjoy working on projects that help that help our Tribe create new programs, services, infrastructure and jobs that make our community better. I have over 15 years of successful grant writing experience and hope to contribute to an already stellar team."

We look forward to working with Jason to serve our Tribe and community.
