Elder Services Report for the Month of February

Terrance Manuelito

Tribal Aging Director

Boozhoo and Miigwech for taking the time in reading updates to our LCO Elder & Disabled Services program, as I write this, our weather forecast calls for temperatures to continue to stay in the upper 30’s and 40’s, hopefully to continue even though we will endure the wet puddles, which I have no problem in seeing, which I hope will keep on coming within the next month of March, with that being said I would like to inform you of some upcoming events and dates.

GLNAEA – Great Lakes Native American Elders Association is being hosted in Keshena by the Menominee Tribe and Bryan Sullivan will be transporting elders to the event on Wednesday, March 4th at 9am, Clara Jalowitz is coordinating the GLNAEA trip and reservations have been made, I am unable to attend due to a previous engagement but always look forward to well informed and attended event.

During the week of March 2nd through March 5th, I will be out of the office attending the Title VI Regional Training in Red Lake, MN; this will be my first time attending so looking forward to learning some valuable information and networking with other Title VI Grantee’s.

The following week I will be attending the TVSO Quarterly meeting in Black River Falls, WI, which is a one day event and consists of each Tribal Veteran Service Officer and look forward to networking with issues surrounding Veteran related concerns and topics.

Wisconsin Judicare will be making their rounds again this year for their WILLS CARAVAN, which will be at the LCO Tribal Office, Peter Larson Room, on Friday March 20th, we will be distributing the flyers soon with our Meal deliveries, if you are needing transportation to the event please contact our offices to setup a ride.

Miigwech for taking the time in reading the latest updates!

Respectfully,

Terrance Manuelito
