LCO Child Care Center Director Marie Wooten reports that the new center is coming together and they are awaiting their licensing inspection so they will be a Wisconsin state licensed facility.

“We are hoping for a summer opening and I’ll set that date once we are licensed,” Wooten said.

Five teachers have been hired along with five teacher assistants. Other staff hired so far are two kitchen staff, two maintenance staff, director, administrative assistant, and a secretary/human resoures.

Wooten said they are still in the process of hiring more teaching staff.

“All of our new teachers are working so hard getting certified and getting rooms ready,” Wooten stated. “Kitchen and maintenance staff are working hard prepping our building and the administrative staff recently hosted an Open Enrollment.”

Wooten explained they plan to open five classrooms this summer. She said their recent Open Enrollment was very successful resulting in applications for 75 kids ages newborn to 12 years old.

Wooten also acknowledged artwork being done in the entrance that welcomes community members as they enter the building.

“I can’t wait till we are open to the community. I feel really blessed to have such a great team.”
