Boys and Girls Club Statement on Operations with Rise in Covid

By Heather Peterson

Club Director

With our environment changing daily and new closures happening by the hour, I wanted to give our community an update on our Clubs hours of operation this week. Our community’s safety is our number one priority. We continue to follow all safety protocols, social distancing, "pods" remain under 8 youth in each, and our building is large enough to safely keep each "pod" separate throughout the day. It is our goal to continue to assist families that need us most during these challenging times. It is also our commitment to our community to continue to offer academic support during Virtual Learning Days, remain open for our Hayward students that signed up for the Club to be their ONE drop off location for the year, and to make sure we provide a full hot dinner nightly. We will continue to assess our environment and make decisions on what is best for the limited amount of youth we are serving at this time. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions or inquire how we can be of service during this time. These decisions are never easy. We are all trying our best to be of support to all our families. Please stay safe, take care of one another, and continue to be kind.

We will get through this!
