A Special Christmas Message from Chairman Taylor
By Louis Taylor
LCO Tribal Chairman

Last year I delivered a Christmas Message during a time that none of us had ever experienced, a pandemic that we knew very little about, and through it all, our community persevered through some difficult times. A year later and our Tribe still travels through uncharted waters, learning as we go, but now, not only do we deal with the uncertainty of the virus, we deal with an unprecedented amount of loss to our families.
For our families dealing with the loss of a loved one, this time of year can be difficult, even a painful reminder of our loss. Many of those traditions shared among the family, such as decorating a tree, picking out gifts, cooking your favorite holiday meals, can be more about survival than enjoyment and my heart goes out to each and every one of you. There are no easy answers, no simple solutions, just know that here at Lac Courte Oreilles, we are one big family and your Tribe stands with you.
As we celebrate the holidays and welcome a new year, my hope for you all is to continue to share joyful memories, laughter and good cheer with your loved ones this Christmas.
And to our tribal employees who continue to work the front lines of this pandemic, and work so hard for our Tribe. I hope that you will accept my warmest wishes for the holiday season and that you’ll take some downtime over the holidays with the people that are dearest to you. I thank you all for your hard work and dedication to this Tribe.
