On Aprill 23, 2025, The 2025 LCO Men’s Basketball League wrapped up its high-energy season with a thrilling championship round that saw fierce competition, community spirit, and standout athletic performances.
Under the leadership of this year’s league coordinator Jacob Trepanier, with support from former organizer Paul Lacapa who also managed the score boards throughout the season, six teams competed from March 12 to April 23. The tournament was made possible through the generous sponsorship of the Lac Courte Oreilles Tribal Governing Board and Chippewa Valley Bank, which provided funding for facility use, officiating, and cash prizes.
Four top-performing teams advanced to the final evening of competition.
In the opening matchup, Team Gerber delivered a dominant performance over Team Tony Dennis, securing a 93–57 win and a spot in the championship game. Tony Dennis and his squad were awarded a $75 cash prize for their efforts.
The second semifinal featured a closely contested battle between Team Curtis Decora and Team Demetri Dennis. After a back-and-forth game, Team Dennis came out on top with a 92–84 victory, also earning a place in the finals. Team Decora received a $75 prize for their tournament run.
The highly anticipated championship game pitted Team Ryan Gerber against Team Demetri Dennis in an intense showdown. Both teams showcased skill and determination, but it was Team Dennis who ultimately claimed victory and the title of 2025 LCO Men’s Basketball League Champions, along with a $450 cash prize.
In a display of sportsmanship and community support, Team Gerber donated their $300 runner-up prize back to the LCO School Basketball program.
The 2025 season highlighted not only the talent within the Lac Courte Oreilles community but also the shared commitment to fostering youth and adult athletics through collaboration and generosity.
