I would like to take this time to thank the “MANY WONDERFUL PEOPLE” that helped make the 15th Annual LCO Motorcycle Cancer Fundraiser a success! We were able to raise over $3,300 that will certainly help cancer patients that request assistance from our fund!
As always, many thanks to Road Captains Ernie Kolumbus, Everett and Melissa Bekkum, Rick and Eric Chambers, Barb and Dan Tyrolt, Artimus Maximus, Mina Benson, Brian and Karen Bell, Kim Lambert and Ken Saltzer who did a great job blocking busy intersections to ensure that the Bikers made it through safely.
Volunteers Dianne Sullivan, Rhonda Raines, Tibissum Rice, Alicia Cross and Sissy Ramsburg helped raise money by selling raffle tickets and 50/50 drawings at all stops.
Thank you to Auntie Marilyn Russell for donating the beautiful Afghan and to Sissy Ramsburg for the donation of the beautiful diamond dot biker picture for raffle prizes! Thanks to Lynette and Jeff Tribble for ensuring that breakfast food was made available for the Bikers on Sat. morning. Thank you to “Scoop” from the Sawyer County Record that always comes out to cover our ride. Thanks to the TGB for the discount rooms for the Road Captains that traveled from afar to help with the fundraiser. Thanks to Brian Actor for designing this year’s fundraiser shirts. Thanks to the following Casino’s that generously donated Stay & Play packages for one of our raffles; Mole Lake Casino-Lodge, Grand Casino Mille Lacs, Legendary Waters Resort & Casino, Seven Winds Casino-Lodge, Lake of the Torches Casino, Grand Casino Hinckley and Menominee Casino Resort!
A special thank you to the staff at the Turtle Lake Casino where we stopped for lunch this year. They met us at the door upon arrival, ensured special parking for the Motorcycles and requested help from the Turtle Lake Police Department to block the busy connected roundabouts for the bikes to pass through safely. The restaurant personnel made everyone feel welcome and were able to feed about 65 people in record time and all said the food was delicious! Will definitely be a stop for us again in the future!
Last but certainly not least – the wonderful-generous Bikers and their guest riders that opened their hearts and wallets to help raise money for our cancer fund. We love you all, hope to see next year on July 8th for the 16th Annual LCO Cancer Fundraiser!!! (I apologize in case there is anyone I forgot to say thank you to)…
